Newly finished oil on canvas painting. A girl at the beach wit wind blowing as her dog sits by her side. The waves rushing onto the shore foam up by her feet. Just a few days ago I’ve created a twitter account for better and easier visual art expansion. You are so welcomed to come and support my art through twitter now as well, easily accessible and easily retweetable! 🙂
My knife painting of ‘Two Red Umbrellas’ has been accepted in 61st Annual Juried Show Exhibition, the details are on the e-vite above, you can come see this painting: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.438788422875190.1073741827.438781186209247&type=3
If you live in, around, or around the area of Etobicoke, Toronto, don’t hesitate to come by and see the exhibition lasting until November 28th. Let me know what you think!
It is also on sale.
I do wonder how the jurying is being done, quite interested if my work will be selected for any sections. When I dropped my work off, I only saw a few paintings that were there, they were of different variation, some more abstract than others, so I am sure you will find something you like. It is much different seeing art works in person rather than on a photograph or a slide show or any other media. I do very much want to hear from whoever sees the work in person what you think, I love hearing comments. As a side note, I am hoping to make a fast speed drawing video tomorrow and be able to put it up online either the day after or maybe even he day of. Stay tuned.
I will soon be able to make videos on some of my drawings I am holding back for this purpose, they will be posted on my youtube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2kJ3kRl8jMbkR56mUnmGgg?feature=watch
so far there is only one video I’ve made of a collection of my past paintings until the date it was posted on.
The videos will include fast-forwarded drawing and later on painting as well, but also various different tutorials on techniques of different kinds that I am planning on doing throughout. So far such include reverse glass painting, painting on a bottle, eventually Easter egg painting as well and whichever other projects that I can think of that I’ve done that I’ve found an approach to or have taught to. Some tutorials, I’m thinking, would include specifics on how to get the hands or the lips, the shading in, the shadow vs. light, some tips within those categories and more, I would also include my own mistakes I’ve made as I’ve progressed to understanding how to do which part. We will see as we go along. The plans are grand but only time can tell how it will go, if the first few videos will go fairly well that will certainly be a motivation to do more and more. Would you like that?
I’ve been asked this question recently – how do you create the images to draw or paint? I’ve never asked myself that before. Then I began thinking. I just do. I cannot explain the reason of how and why. Personally, I cannot. I see an image in my head. That image can be evoked by a single word I accidentally overhear from a stranger walking by talking to someone else that would spark some kind of logical reaction in my brain that will eventually lead me for the image to form. It seems like a logical threat to me as I trace back the steps but when I tried explaining this to my friend I stopped half way recognizing this does not completely make sense, but at the same time it does. This image forming, it can even be just on the spot, or I dream of it, has to go through certain stages in my head until I think, “all-right, I must do this image, or else it won’t leave me alone.” And, indeed, it does not leave me alone until I paint it exactly how I see it in my brain. I still remember a painting I wanted to do almost two years back, I remember it very clearly since I haven’t gotten around on doing it because I know this is a very good idea, personally, and I will have to get it exactly right. I release it from my mind so it can live. Roughly, that is how I know what to create.
